Drug-addled MMO banned down under
What a crime
The Australian government Classification Board has refused classification for massively multiplayer online action game CrimeCraft for rewarding completed missions with medicines and chemical boosts.
Based on in-game references to the items as "drugs," the Board has denied the game classification reports Kotaku AU. Without a rating, the game effectively cannot be sold in the country. The same judgement was levelled against award-winning role-playing game Fallout 3, which was later edited for release.
According to the ruling from the Classification Board, the game's use of drugs doesn't meet the "standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults."
CrimeCraft has been available in the US and UK since autumn without complaint from either region's rating board.
