Holiday season good for the PS3
Sony cheer up at CES
Kaz Hirai gleefully announced Sony's worldwide sales figures for the Christmas season today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
After the PS3 saw a re-modelling and a global price cut, Sony's new black box shifted 3.8 million units this festive season.
Almost half of that figure was in the US with American consumers alone snapping up 1.7 million PS3 Slims.
The reported sales figures were for the month leading up to Christmas from November 26th to December 28th in the North America, November 21st to December 25th in Europe and other PAL regions and from November 23rd to December 27th in Japan and Asia.
Thanks Gamasutra.
