Fallout MMO beta drops 2012
Start queuing up
The embattled Fallout massively multiplayer online game should be ready for public beta in two years proclaims publisher Interplay in a desperate attempt to cull positive press following a string of legal troubles.
CinemaBlend has the story, which comes across as a ploy to put a favourable spin on the game as legal spats continue with Fallout 3 maker Bethesda.
2012 is quite a ways off and a lot could happen to struggling publisher Interplay between now and then. Pledging an open beta for a game that is still in the earliest stages of development seems a bit of a reach for a publisher that hasn't shipped a game in years.
Still, a Fallout MMO is a curiosity. The success of Fallout 3 could bode well for it; on the other hand, it may have raised expectations so high as to make it difficult to please longtime fans.
