Ubisoft's agreement with Warner Bros. to co-publish the forthcoming MMOG The Matrix Online is no more, an official release confirmed late yesterday. Apparently, the separation is an amicable one, and Ubisoft's withdrawal means that Warner will now be going solo with the project.

The game is being created by (No One Lives Forever), and a release is currently planned for November, after a beta-testing phase currently pencilled in for the spring. Meanwhile, there's speculation abound regarding Ubisoft's loss-of-faith, which mainly focuses on the mediocre reception with which the two recent films have been met - and Atari's game, Enter the Matrix.
