Half-Life 3 (sort of) confirmed
Rumour has it...
Reports from Eurogamer.net and Swedish online games magazine Gamereactor.se purport to claim the confirmation of Half-Life 3 this morning, based upon word from Valve's Gabe Newell. Apparently Half-Life the third is already in the planning stages at the Seattle developer, and was hinted at during a recent press briefing, in which it was also suggested that we might find out more about the aliens' origins in it, and even get our hands the delightful Alyx (as in play as her, perverts).
Of course, with Half-Life 2 not due until later this summer, and the gap between this sequel and the original, its unlikely we'll hear anything on this soon - though at least Valve's forward thinking may mean less of a wait for the next instalment, assuming numero two goes according to plan that is.

This i beleive to be a load of crap started just for fun. There is no way that those ppl over at Valve should be thinking about the third, when they are still having problems with the second. They should release the second one and a stable expansion at least, before they even begin to consider a third. The idea is stupid to begin with.

what was up with the ending to HL2 is this a set up for HL3?
Well it seems the only things they had left to fix was a few small glitches in hl2. and since it did come out earlyer there are a bunch of patches realeased. they didnt spend all there time making the storyboard for hl3 because they had a hl2 realease. you dont know what your talking about.

Oh man Half-life 2 was the best game ever made in the universe uptil now.. I still dont finish it allthough im loving it.. It has the best graphics ever and you can move basacally every obeject arround.. The law of gravity is exellently applyed in this game created by valve.. FFS, I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY THIS IS THE BEST FPS EVA. its not even close. if this should be the best fps ever, it would be for the storyline, not for the gameplay. Tons of bugs in HL2. for example, how can light go through rubble as u see in a sewer (somewhere, dont remember o.O. all those goddam sewers!)

i played this game, absolutely loved it, thruout the game i came quite attached to alyx for some reason (maybe it has to do with the graphics makin her almost seem real) and i miss her i want hl3 to come out now dammit
Ha, this is why they make endings like the ending to HL2. They want you to buy the sequel, and it looks like they are doing a good job at it. I need to know what the hell happens.
argh.. just finished - that was a pathetic ending.. at least come up with something decent... metal gear solid had great endings
personally i wished they finished the story off at no.2 (i.e. kill bill). The problem is really good trilogies seem very hard to pull off. Even Matrix screwed it up (i thought anyway). so hopefully, valve doesnt butcher the storyline.
half-life 2 is short cause of its source code was stolen so they had to do it again thats why alot of the game wasnt there so half-life 3 should go as planned if everything goes right
I just finished HL2 and I was amazed by the graphics and everthing!!!!!!!!! Deffinetly beats out halo 2. The end is the BEST!!!!! But there is a huge clifhanger though!!!! Cant wait for 3rd one!!!1

the steal of the source code of hl2 was not the reason for the delay... and they didn't had to rewrite a lot of code as they mention..

HL2 is nothing beyond amazing, the game play is fantastic, the graphics are wonderful (and I'm running it under DX8)
However, the game kinda starts to go a little stale around Nova Prospekt, and then starts to go down hill, little by little. But everything leading up to Nova Prospekt should get a freaking Award for the best gameplay in my life.
I give it 90%
half life 2 was amazing. the gravity gun is so original. i just wish you got to have the modified gravity gun for longer though. half life 3 should be good.

You know wat half life 2 was alright the fact u could drive some pretty cool vechicles and the fact u could control those ant lions but there was lots of glitches and a complicated game to setup its pretty much u need an internet connection for it which is stupid but oh well!!!

All you people complaining about valve and delays, but think about. no valve=no Half Life, no Half Life 2, no Counter Strike, no Team Fortress Classic, and definitley no Half Life 3. Besides, im willing to wait a long time for Half Life 3, cause HL2 certainly wasn't disapointing

Half Life 2 is a great game and was so much fun to play and look at all the great graphics. Its a shame that the ending was a cliffhanger into the next storyline. I hope for the best that Valve will come through and continue the saga of Gordon Freeman. Besides Halo 2 was just the same seeing how that ending was also a cliffhanger into Halo 3. I hope Bungie does a good job on the third and will try and sum up the story, but that kind of goes without saying. But we should all be thankful that there was even a Half Life 2 because we all know we will be playing it over and over and never get tired of kickin alien ass! Best wishes to you my fellow gamers!
i played half-life 1 and 2 they were very good the seconds better of course but still left me wondering about the ending the second ends wierd but i still understood. The games are breathtaking and i had a very fun time playing and hope for the 3rd instalment there are lots of questions unanswered :-D

Check it out folks, HL2, best good graphics,most realist like, but the story was not even good. it had cool moments but way too short and the vehicle parts were lame and pointless, i would have rather ran all those distances.

I beat it several times, Hl2 that is. It is a great game. and you can't tell me that a little lighting is going to ruin the realism for you, or a few of the glitches because you all know this is the most realistic game engine that you have ever experienced, and you cannot gripe about its low quality. The graphics are stuningly beautiful, but yes there are some games that have better graphics and to get the full feel you need an ATI card or else you will have trouble running in DX9 without hacking for you Nvidia users. I was dissapointed with the dynamic lighting, it wasn't taht good, but the physics, the enemy AI, the story, they all make up for the graphics problems. And valve with the steam engine can create updates and release them to you, and make the game better as time goes by. And for you who dislike the steam client, it is the best game update and multiplayer client and it saved Valve alot of money. Steam isthe future, as more users get broadband, Valve and other companies can just distribute their software via a client and there is no need to deal with a publisher. Enjoy the game as it is really really good. Kind of short but it was freaking awesome

I think these could make quite good movies. However, I am now beginning to contradict myself. No they would not make good movies because Gordon is such a mute. Your main cahracter in the film would just walk round saying nothing. The game teaches you nothing about his character or personality or anything.
It should just stick to games.
Now I'll talk about what really matters, the games. I hope Half life 3 DOES still have Alyx in she is cool and there could be a little romance thing going on with her and gordon if gordon has a personality in 3 and talks they could hit it on.
But what's really been biting at my ass all these years of half life gaming has been WHO THE HELL IS G-MAN!???? If the answer to this is not revealed in the 3rd coming I will end up eating my cat (or something.) I can't take so much mystery.
Also I think before 3 there should be a HL2 expansion pack, maybe one where you are the combine or zombies or G-man (lol that would never happen) I also hope they keep Half life 3 at the same level as 2 (performance wise) maybe just use the source engine because I don't want to have to get ANOTHER new PC! And if it was still on source engine(maybe slightly tweaking the engine they could call it source2) it would be out quicker.
I just finished half life 2, and the game left me amazed and wanting for more, alot more. The ending left me amazed and afraid for what will happen next. But do not do what halo 2 did, and switch charcters, that just messes everything up usually, So when you make half life 3, leave it on how you did the first 2, one charcter, and a whole lot of going on.

Half-Life 2's ending was fine, it left the whole thing open for a sequal or even a prequil. But if another half life comes out im afraid it will have to outdo hl2s graphics causing massive chaos for better video cards and computers. But over all half life 2 was the greatest game I have ever played and I will be looking forward to a third :) .

Saw hl3 preview today- g-man saved alex!!! and eli and dr.mosman or what ever. anyway it's looks betta than before. but dont expect too much improvement unless dx jumps to ten in the next two to three months as to the 9.0c that is out now it will surely cause a lag ans hl3 only supports 5900xt up and radeon 6900xt up. as most of us will have to upgrade.
I have just completed playing HL2... Gosh i was amazed by it. If i dont hear anything about HL3 soon, i will kill myself!!
