E3 2004: Unreal Engine 3 to debut at Expo
NVIDIA demo new tech, too
Epic Games, with a little help from their graphical hardware friends at NVIDIA, will be debuting the latest and greatest iteration of their oft-used game engine at E3, where the Unreal Engine 3 will also be used to demonstrate the power of NVIDIA's latest hardware.
Demonstrations in a dedicated theatre will be shown every fifteen minutes for the duration of E3, and will amply show the power of the new Shader Model technology it utilises - a key feature of DirectX 9.0 also enabled in NVIDIA's GeForce6 series of GPUs.
New lighting and shading effects are both key features of Epic's latest technology, and we're reliably informed that the series of engines has powered some seventy products to date. "Unreal Engine 3 sets the bar for what games will look like over the coming years," enthused Bill Rehbock, director of developer relations at NVIDIA. "Working with the Unreal Engine is a compelling proposition for any game developer looking to push their games forward with innovative visuals, physics, and gameplay."
Entries into the 'Make something Unreal' contest will also be displayed on NVIDIA's booth, recognition of the flexibility and power of the Unreal game engine. More on this soon.

Comments
Unreal Engine 3 graphics are amazing. I've never seen graghics like that ever in my life. PC games poered by that engine will require Godlike PC's to be experienced at its full potential. These type of graphics are also cut out for Xbox2. Imagine a next-gen Unreal game with these graphics.
