Nintendo Revolution confirmed
New console named and hyped
In a press conference in Tokyo today, Nintendo head Satoru Iwata confirmed that the next console from Big N will be titled 'Revolution', and, like the DS handheld device, promises to innovate in the field of entertainment. The 'new ideas' hinted at are not mentioned - Iwata fearing other manufacturers may steal their plans, however he did also reveal that the Revolution console will be far more than upgraded GameCube.
"What we need is not a next-generation machine but a next-generation way of playing games," Iwata commented. "We need to propose a new idea so that the game industry can overcome its current crisis." Iwata has been vocal in the past in denouncing the cyclical nature of videogaming, stating that innovation and uniqueness are far more important that visuals and technology.
Iwata's words come just a day after European Nintendo head Dave Gosen slammed Microsoft for driving the industry towards new hardware too early, stating that the industry's cyclical nature is damaging and inflexible. The headline grabbing violence of GTA, the media's fascination with future hardware and ridiculously cheap game bundles also came under fire.

The nintendo ds is good and take new game play like zodiac.the psp looks good but it may have lots of problems because it uses a new format.But I heard that microsoft is making a handheld code name (xboy).Microsoft was talking about making it but as soon as sony annonced it psp every thing went quiet.I bet xboy will come out after the ds and psp.

i heard that Iwata side that we should look at the new gameboy ds to get a clue to what the revolution will be like. everyone know that its not going to be two screens and that its not going to be a touch screen so maybe nintendo is working on a wireless system that can run the internet right out of the box.
What Iwata meant by that statement is that the DS has features that people have never seen before on a handheld, so the 'revolution' will have things that people have never seen. u will play games like never before, Iwata said that the next system will not just be a system hooked up to a tv and using controllers. possibilities are endless, it boggles my mind.
I think the Nintendo Revolution will be awesome! I am really looking forward to the graphics. And it is neat that you would be able to hook it up to your computer.
Also I'm looking forward to the menu. What I'm talking about On Game cube, when you push A it goes to the menu. And so that will be really big probably. And I just can't wait for it, since I just read a big reveiw about it.

I trust Nintendo can pull this off because I heard The PS3 prototype to be around $1,000. Nintendo though makes fun stuff at low prices. Plus they`re making a cool computer chip codenamed Cell for their next system. If Mr.Iwata or, whoever he is, really does make a new way to play games virtual reality might be cheap soon.

The nintendo Revolution will not be a piece of crap, it will be better than the PS3, and the Xbox 2. And the DS will be a WHOLE lot better than the PSP. Oh, and they have released a release date and price for the Nintendo DS. It will come out November 21st and will cost $150.00 Oh, and it will now have the PictoChat program built into it.
Nintendo truly does care about quality gaming, so let's hear it for the overall trouncing of Nintendo, and the unjust intruder on the video game market called Microsoft!

The new Microsoft system will be called Xenon, or so I've heard. I really don't care for Microsoft's systems. I'm waiting for Nintendo's Revolution to hit the market.
Nintendo makes excellent games, but there consoles dont meet tha standard. As time passes they fall farther behind and out of touch with other console makers. Nintendo needs to reconsolidate and become a 3rd party member and create games before they SINK........

Sony fanboys your demise awaits. First off, Playstation sucks ass! Why? Well quite simple Nintendo and Microsoft are alive and kicking with First and Second party support. Imagine if they both had the third party support Sony had, Play Station would be dead. First off, Gamecube is by far the most stable of the consoles out thier and unlike "PS2" it doesn't suffer from dips in frame rate and clunky animations. Hell dream cast was far more stable than that crap. XBOX has the best graphical engine and it's sound quality is the best.
Now on to the next gen. Nintendo will surprise us all, why? Because each time they push innovation to another level. The DS will mop the floor with PSP, and the Revolution will be what its name says a revolution for us all. EA and other major third party developers have already expressed great interest in the Revolution why? Simply this, it's price tag and development capabilites will be far better than Sony's. Oh Xbox 2 will do pretty well too. But Sony does this, they use existing technology and try to put thier name on it. Secondly, they're not practical. Blu Ray techonolgy is expensive, how are they gonna drop the price of it in two years. Secondly, IBM is already developing a new type of storage medium about the size of a sugar cube that will store more than a 100 GB of data. Who is IBM's biggest partner in the console wars: Nintendo. Why? because like IBM, Nintendo pushes the envelope but are far more practical than it's competitors.
I think that the Nintendo Revolution will be the greatest gaming console to date because of it's great innovation that it will offer when it comes out.
I've been a nintendo fan since the nes but every time they have released a console lately, it has been a disappointment. unless a major change has occurred inside the management of nintendo, i feel the revolution will be no different. between the endless delays, an inability to cooperate with many third party development houses and an unwillingness to take financial risks, nintendo is losing much of the fan base it once held. unfortunately, the revolution will most likely be another disappointment, and nintendo will at last drop out of the console wars and develop only handheld systems and software...and trading cards and all that pokemon crap.

Q: Where are third Party publishers in terms of Revolution development?
A: On that part I am not going to comment. In, part because we are looking to do business in a new way with our licenses. I thin, in fairness the relationship that Nintendo has had with certain third party developers at times has been strained. We are working hard to repair all those relationships. I personally have spent some time with the top five publishers here in the U.S. Certainly my counterparts are spending a lot of time with the Japanese publishers.
the Nintendo Revolution will rock. nintendo is learning from their mistakes. the xbox 2 and ps3 will no doubt be stellar in their own rights and aspects, but the revolution is trying to create a brand-new gamer market. i have played the DS and I love it, such a new style, and the multiplayer is very fun with metroid prime: hunters and even pictochat. it's a bunch of things that are fairly new technology, but have never been used in games before. two screens, a stylus w/touch screen, voice chat, wireless multiplayer, Wi-Fi etc. the revolution will expand upon this, but in the console realm. it won't be a two screen console, but it will definately change the gamer market, i have faith in nintendo. plus, with rumored 1.8 Ghz processors, an 800 Mhz graphics chip (more powerful than the 500 Mhz chip for Xbox 2 and PS3) , and a 15 Gb HD it should be very interesting.

some more news on the consoles ive heard from my sources that the ps3 will featrue a new redesigned controler so that they can seperate them selves from the other platforms and have more games that are only for them there are also speculations that the ps3 will come in two forms that means a possible super ps3 and an average ps3 and we still have no numbers on the stupid cell chip by sony toshiba and ibm same goes for the revolution and the xenon we need some teaser specs at least come one dont be jerks but in a few years a game will be a full imersive expirence

If Sony keeps control of the market we will see a crash just like what happened to atari back then. Itll take longer but it will happen unless Nintendo truly delivers on its promise for revolution(which i hope) Sony endorsed the spike tv video game awards which if you sw them you know its starting to happen i mean really best video game music is music made for a game not from some band n ported. I believe that you should allow the next system to still play gamecube games so the nintendo industry won't lose any money for having to probably selling their gamecube back to EB games or something like that. Some people still like gamecube and its a waste of money for some people to buy a bunch of games one year for their gamecube and then spend more money for the next system.
I also believe that you should have the next system exeed over everything the new XBOX and PS2 will have and have more appeal to older groups of kids such as teens because they are the group of people that usually carry the money around and are willing to pay the money for your kind of stuff like me.

I do feel Nintendo are being a little hypocritical on the revolution front. They are claiming that simply making faster more pwerful successor consoles is killing the market. Have they not released more consoles than the current competition. Nes Snes N64 Cube, each one just being technically superior than the previous one. This is fine if you don't accuse sony and micro-shaft (lol) of killing the industry by doing the exact same thing Nintendo has done for the last 30 years........I honestly think this is do or die for the big N.

gamecube may not have the highest sales/revenue, however they do have the highest profit in consoles. Especially compared to xbox which loses tons of money every quarter. That of course does not include handhelds where nintendo hasnt had any competition In (except psp, too new to see ho well it will do). Nintendo makes huge profits in that area.

I've heard many things. I heard that they use virtual helmets (which I doubt will happen) and I heard that NR (Nintendo Revolution) will be able to read GCN disk so you can play your favorite GCN games on your NR. I know almost for a fact that Xbox2 is releasing any time around fall of 2005 or early 2006. I know that Microsoft is rushing to get Xbox2 in stores before Sony and Nintendo. PS3 is coming in late 2006 or early 2007. Nintendo is doing everything they can to beat Sony because of their last mistake when they released Gamecube later than PS2. I hope this info helped.

okay, i have so many opinions on this but i am gonna try to keep it short. first of all, x-box is a just a scam, to get people who want games on teh pc, wich is a better gameing system to have to pay an extra 200 bux. also...well... *looks at psp and throws up* wtf is that thing? the reason x-box sold better is because for some reason todays dumbass care more about pretty graphics then the actual games. i love legend of zelda, i love mario, and all nintendo games, and i think that systems like x-box wouldnt exist if it werent for games like halo, wich belongs on pc or gamecube. i have many more opinions on this but i dont wanna annoy anyone. i had a DS and it hasnt had any new games come out since the release date.i recently sold my DS in for a PSP.the PSP can store music, movies,and games on a memory chip.it also has graphics that look exactly like the PS2.and it has a little joystick that doesnt stick out.the DS was bulky,had 2 tiny screens,and about the worst release games ever

UGH! If there's one thing I'm sick of it's listening to stuck-up Xbox and PS2 fans giggle with glee as they brandish new copies of "Halo 2" and "San Andreas" in my face! I've owned a Gamecube for a couple years and i was sick of it because of all the great games you couldn't play on it like Halo and Vice City and most of the Mature titles. Nintendo has fallen a little behind Microsoft and Sony, but the Revolution will bring it right back. At this year's E3 it'll be really popular and everyone will be listening to amazing rumors about it and it will totally steal the spotlight from the upcoming PS3 and Xbox 2. I had first lost hope and was just going to buy an Xbox 2, but then I read about the Revolution and changed my mind. Nintendo will push the boundaries of videogaming like no other company can do.

ok just so you now the ds has the abliety to do more than the psp in graphics there was a test program that was run on it and it coild do 3d true 3d not what you see in ps2, xbox, or gamecube, but as in put on the plastic glasses because of the two screens and second if you think that a game has to be 3d for it to be good then you are infested with the xbox look at the graphics who cares about game play fanboy

Nintendo likes to bring a unique gaming experiance to its players. sony seems to repeat its self infenently. microsoft makes computers. out of all the fans to each company, nintendo's are the most loyal. and you know what? the revolution is gonna do what its name says. its gonna REVOLUTIONIZE the gaming industry. thats why nintendos better. they think of ways not to repeat. they will end the hopeless loop of better graphics. quality, not quantity.

I have done a lot of reasearch about the XBOX 360 and this system will be incredible. The the first Xbox hit the market on the nose with the Idea of XBOX LIVE which is amazing. Also the fact that this system was a shooter. If the "Revolution" wants to be even on the same page as microsoft then the next system will have to be THE online shooting system plus have all this revolutionary gaming stuff I have heard about. Nintendo has a lot of ground to make, I mean come on guys your gamecube is only selling for $45 dollars in some places. XBOX and PS2 are both still selling at more than 3 times as much, and for a used one at that. So I dont know guys Nintendo better pull something out of the ass if they want to be around for the next few years. But I cant wait for the new system to come out. Another tip for the guys upstairs leak out information on to the web like XBOX did and get the world excited for the new system. I LOVE NINTENDO

Nintendo can sure stay in the game they started off by just selling cards in 1889 (Hanafunda cards) there they went on making all sorts of new gizmos then they went in to the gaming market and after the crash of gaming in america they took there chances to release donkey kong arcade and whata you know they brought gaming back to the world they already revolutionized the gaming market once they put out the NES with there super maro bros. which became top selling game and still is 40million copy on open day, and as i have read like 3 or 5 years ago 60 million copys sold of SMB then they released NES2 onto N64 which did another revolution in platforming by making games more detailed in 3D! and they brought in there gamecube which they did make a lot of profits off and the fact that the revolution jis coming i just cant wait for it. Nintendo's been in the game for 100 years and its gonna stay in the game and wipe its competitors out!
on with the the things saying nintendo is kiddie wtf is kiddie about nintendo there games rule theres no barbie game no boring lame games ever game released for nintendo is fun like super smash bros melee damn that thing is action packed also nintendo has exlusive gaming like mgs twin snakes and pest of all resident evil 4 which brought nintendos profit market to high rise since it did help out by with the ppl who dont have a gamecube go and sure buy one just for resident evil 4 well nothings kiddie about gcn every game released is fun and innovating the revolution is going to revolutized gaming once again and also nintendo dont follow other gaming markets path's they follow there own "stop stelling idead from nintendo sony!" lol the d-pad was created by nintendo i have nothing against sony or microsoft put when you put them in gaming markets this what there for sony they cant seem to make game because there load time sucks there graphics seem to be squarish and then theres the need to add dvds gaming is for gaming not for dvds sony is expert at entertainment they just gotta stop on there thing about putting stuff on there playstation of what you already have in your house example dvd and readable music player on with microsoft well there games just suck but there graphics rule i do like halo but it gets boring after i play it like for 30mins its because all i notice is just repreated blast away go on blast away go on! microsoft needs better games they should just stick to the pc market since there better at that Nintendo ownz all

Hey guys! I hope Nintendo Revolution really does this stuff in. I have always been a Nintendo fan and i LOVE Gamecube and DS. It kix the hell out of Ps2, Psp, and Xbox. The Graphics are way better. This revolution i heard is supposed to be "Touch Sensitive" for exaple if u wanna make ur guy run faster, u squeeze the controller. Ive heard many things about this revolution and Im dieing to see what they have in store for us. To hold back on E3.. damn... nintendo is gonna kick major!
I hope that nintendo doesn't think that they can just "revolutionize" the industry because I alone am not going to buy an under powered next-gen system. This coming from an n64 enthusiast that bought the gamecube on launch day. I hope they don't end up sitting this console war out.

I am an xbox fan but WTF is with the name? Xbox 360, that name sucks, nintendo revolution will be great, im hoping that nintendo will make a come back with this system, especially after the utter failure of gamecube. Ps3 will definitly be a great system, maybe even the best. however xbox 360 is backed by microsoft, which means they have more money than sony. After all is said and done there will be differences in systems, but that is all mere pluses. it will all come down to the games. I see ps3 will finally have more than 2 controllers, xbox will have the advantage with its following of fans for its multiplayer. I still havent heard of any game for any system that can attract more fans than Halo. playstation has been famous for their rpg games nintendo for its insanely fun crazy games, and xbox with its fps which are in my opinion are the best. it will all come down to the games.
well first off nintendo game cube sucked ass reaaaaaalllllllyyyyyy bad besides its ability to take some hits. Microsoft kicks ps2 and nintendos ass because they have alot more money. So i assume that the new system called x box 360 will be alot better than the other too. And yes nintendo needs to make a come back because all of there games suck except zelda ones
nintendo Revolution will be soooo good i can't wait to get one. its so cool that you can download the old nintendo games and play them on Revolution. i think that the revolution is the best looking system of the there because the ps3 just looks like a DVD player and the xbox kind of stole ps2's look alittle. did you know that the nintendo was the first with the idea of online play with NES. it had a little thing to connect your phone line into. so you can't say that nintendo never thought of it. i think that they where just perfecting it before they brought it out.
