A brand new game that's sure to have the RSPCA baying for blood was confirmed by Action Forms yesterday, 'Vivisector', a brand new first-person heading to the in October. Based on a premise similar to The Island of Dr Moreau, Vivisector will be published by Brigades and will feature a variety of scary cyborg animals to battle with using sixteen lethal weapons.

The game is set upon the mysterious island of Soreo, where one-hundred years before your arrival contact was lost with a maniacal doctor conducting bizarre experiments. As a special forces soldier you are sent to present day Soreo to deal with an uprising, but it won't be the militants you’ll be most worried about.

'Modbeast' foot soldiers, 'Humanimal' biped warriors, and 'Overbrute' elite beasts will be the main villains of the piece, and we’re promised twenty types of monster in total. Naturally, brutal violence is pretty much par for the course in the genre, and Action Forms are promising gore galore complimented by an advanced physics engine.

Huge dense environments will also be capture with 'photo-realism', thanks to the developer's AtmosFear engine which is reportedly adept at both jungle and interior environs. Our hero Kurt will be gathering experience as he progresses, resulting in greater skills, and some twenty-four levels will feature in total. Whether Vivisector will actually deliver anything worth writing home about remains to be seen, however some of the screenshots do look nice. More on this soon.
