Kombat enters Unreal Championship 2

Midway get into the game

With Midway recently snatching the prestige Unreal series from under the noses of long-time publisher Atari, the new relationship is already beginning to bare fruit, it would seem. Unreal Championship 2 for the Xbox is the first to benefit from Epic's new friends, with the integration of famous Midway characters into the multiplayer-styled battle game confirmed.

In addition to Epic's own stable of familiar faces will come fighters from the classic Mortal Kombat series, Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict marking the first time the characters have been used elsewhere - I believe. Even more curiously, the proposed new characters will even migrate along with their trade-mark 'fatality moves' which could make for some interesting if confusing gameplay.

Unreal Championship 2 is due for release early next and includes sixteen-player Xbox Live playability. More soon.
