European GBA price-cut looms?
Soon, maybe...

With Nintendo of America having already confirmed a price cut stateside for the GBA SP, speculation is now rife on this side of the Atlantic that a similar slash in Europe is coming. This week will see the new $79.99 mark hit stores in the USA, whilst retailers here already discussing a similar move in Europe within a couple of months.
The new price point is bound to make the SP more competitive as Christmas approaches, but moreover, it also separates the best-selling handheld further from the likely debut price of the DS handheld, leaving consumers with two clear choices. The DS too may cost as little as $149.99 when it launches stateside on November 14th, quite a reduction from the $199 originally mooted and a clear indication that the PSP won't be getting an easy ride.
We'll no doubt learn more on SP's Christmas pricing as the festive season approaches.
