GSL 2004: Pro Evo 4 goes online with Xbox
Insiders confirm, but what of the PS2?
Whilst Xbox Live support in Pro Evolution Soccer 4 has been rumoured for some time, developer-publisher Konami have been frustratingly tight-lipped on this expected functionality. Further evidence was forthcoming at the recent Game Stars Live showcase in London however, with the preview build on show boasting a tantalising 'Xbox Live' button on the menu, all but confirming the feature's existence.
Now the UK's Eurogamer.net have been told by an 'insider' that the Xbox version definitely does include support for the burgeoning online service, though quite how many will be able to play per game remains to be seen - with Konami still keeping quiet officially.
Sadly for our PS2 brethren, PES4 almost certainly won't have online support on the format, with rumours circulating suggesting that Konami submitted their PS2 take only a matter of weeks after Winning Eleven 8's debut in Japan. A full announcement confirming this functionality (or lack of) is expected from the publisher soon, with the game due this October in Europe on the PC, Xbox and PS2. We're also in the dark concerning the PC version's online options.
