Despite no word from concerning their 2 (or Xbox Next, depending on who you believe), ATI financial chief Terry Nickerson has revealed that his company's work on the graphical in the new beast is nearly complete - or 'winding down' - as he pointed to the revenue new contracts with Microsoft and are likely to bring in.

ATI have the contracts to supply graphical processing hardware for both Microsoft and Nintendo's respective next-generation efforts, with the former expected to be unveiled early next year (possibly CES in January), for a debut come the close of 2005. Hopefully we'll learn more on this unexpectedly early admission soon, which has sparked chatter of an earlier than expected debut for the Xbox 2. More as we get it, then.
