Valve reveal Half-Life 2 deals
What option will you choose?
We've heard speak of Half-Life 2 coming in various flavours previously, and yesterday the developer's head Gabe Newell revealed the precise taste of these flavours. Firstly the 'off-line' packages, then, coming in two varieties. The vanilla package includes Counter-Strike Source and Half-Life 2, spread across six discs and boxed in a motif of your choice: G-Men, Alyx or Gordon. The collector's edition on the other hand comes complete with both titles, as well original the Half-Life: Source (the first title revamped), a t-shirt, strategy guide and in all in handy DVD format.
The 'online' Steam packages however appear to offer the better value, bronze is the same as Vanilla minus the packaging choices (natch), silver features the same plus the first Half-Life, Day of Defeat: Source and other titles from Valve's back catalogue. The gold bundle however incorporates all of the above, plus posters, hat, stickers, a strategy guide, the soundtrack - and even the opportunity to win a trip to Valve in Seattle. One lucky winner in every 5,000 purchasers will reportedly be selected.
In related news, we await release dates and further very soon.
