The administrators placed in charge of embattled British developer Argonaut have closed the PLC's former head office in Edgware, effectively ending hopes of saving the studio, and putting an end to the last vestiges of the firm as the remaining staff are laid-off. Many firms are said to be bidding on Argonaut's various licences, with former head Jez San having already acquired two of the firms studios, said to be chasing several stalled developments, particularly one for which a contract had already been agreed upon with SCi.

San enraged many Argonaut shareholders last week with his purchase of Morpheme and Just Add Monsters, a purchase which occurred within days of his resignation as head of the collapsing developer. Many have questioned the legality and speed of San's buy-out, viewed with suspicion, whilst former employees are also complaining of non-existent redundancy payments and missing wages. We'll keep you posted on the fallout from this.
