US PS2 gamers were left fuming yesterday after delving into a Sony-provided demo of Viewtiful Joe 2 only to discover that the Namco developed trial wiped save game data from memory cards... oh dear. Naturally, enraged players were venting their spleen online, and it appears the gaff lies with Sony, though it's all a bit late now.
It has just been brought to our attention that there is a glitch in [the demo] which will erase all of your saved files from your Memory Card(s). If you have not yet played the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo, please remove your Memory Card(s) from your PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system before you load the Holiday 2004 Demo Disc," a statement read. "Sony Computer Entertainment America would like to express our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you."
With most demos preventing the saving of games anyway, the best advise seems to be remove the card before playing the demo disc. The offending disc in question is the latest PlayStation Underground holiday demo CD. You have been warned.

Just go get the game on the GameCube and stop messing wit the PS2 Demo.
