New Katamari announced
Namco love Katamari..
Namco's quirky slice of bizarreness Katamari Damacy was a smash-hit with both gamers and critics when released last year in Japan followed by North America - and with a burgeoning reputation has come something of a cult following, even in Europe where the game had to be imported to be enjoyed. Now, Namco are set to bring us another dose of insane Japanese oddness in the shape of 'We love Katamari', which will be out on the PS2 later this year. In Japan. The sequel has also been confirmed by Namco for a North American release, though once again Europeans and other PAL gamers are left in the dark at this juncture.

Once again players will be following the surreal story of the King of all Cosmos and his son the prince as they manoeuvre around the world from location to location, collecting 'katamaris' of increasingly epic scale. In We love Katamari, players will be charged with rolling even larger and odder 'clumps', with the inspired graphical style and soundtrack set to return.
Now, new items will be available to 'roll-up', including fish, mountains and historic monuments, with the Eiffel Tower and sea creatures all joining the ball of fun. A two player co-op mode is even promised, with players manoeuvring the same clump together - which is sure to make for some amusing moments. All in all we're rather excited.
