E3 2005: More PSP launch titles confirmed
Sony assault continues
After the news that GTA is coming to the PSP right around the time of the PSP's launch in Europe on the 1st of September, Sony Entertainment Europe are adding to the build-up with bulletins informing us of titles in the actual launch line-up.
No surprise in the two announcements so far, Wipeout Pure and Ridge Racer. Wipeout will feature the same downloadable content as is just coming online in the US. Each month gamers will be able to add new courses, ships, skins and music tracks until all eight packs have been installed, when Wipeout Pure will be about twice the size it was when bought new. Ridge Racer won't feature the downloaded expansions of Wipeout but it will be playable by between 2 to 8 people over a wireless connection.
Yet more racers in the shape of F1 Grand Prix and World rally Championship will be along for the PSP's first ride onto the continent and Australasia. Both games will remain faithful to their PS2 parentage while adapting themselves to take advantage of the wireless and expansion capabilities of the PSP. Two other sports will be shrunk down and made to perform for pleased PSP owners. Once again portable versions will also be able to boast about the benefits of WiFi, with World Tour soccer: Challenge Edition and Everybody's Golf restraining themselves to offering up localised multiplayer goodness.
Other titles confirmed for launch are Ape Academy, a collection of mad mini-games, MediEvil: Resurrection, undead capers with 'everyone's favourite' skeletal knight Sir Dan Fortesque and Fired Up, a free form driving game that asks the player to beat off a hostile invading force. Tiring work indeed.
