Having split company in acrimonious fashion with VU Games after a lengthy tussle, developer Valve's plans for publishing future titles in the 2 series have remained sketchy. Until today, that is, and reports across the internet which suggest the firm will be finding a new publishing partner to distribute Half-Life 2's add-on at launch this September. Previously it had been suspected that might opt for an launch only via the content delivery system - but it appears the company aren't quite ready to turn their backs on traditional retailers just yet.

Although it isn't known who will publish the Aftermath expansion yet, we know it certainly won't be VU Games who will stop working with Valve games as of August 31st this year, as part of a legal settlement. Activision's name has been mooted to fill this void, but this is only because they published Day of Defeat, not because of any specific facts. Aftermath in September, online and in-stores, is now a given however.. which is good news for all.

Half Life 2 ruled! and i cannot wait for Aftermath to continue the story of Gordon Freeman. The ending on HL2 was a real cliff hanger and i want to know what exactly happens afterwards, cant wait for this game!
