The innovative new controller for the Revolution handheld is still in the works in Japan, explained veteran game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. "We're at a stage where we're adding and removing various kinds of functions, which has been very fun," the creator stated at a business conference. The new controller for Ninty's next-generation system was conspicuously absence at this year's E3, but is expected to include unusual features - perhaps along the same lines as the handheld.

As well as offering something different to the traditional controller pads offered by and Microsoft's console, Nintendo also have to create something that appeals to non-gamers; one of the Revolution consoles mantras being 'All-access gaming', which will appeal to those who've yet to embrace videogames. More news on the new system is expected this year, so hopefully we'll get a look at the controller soon. The Revolution is due out in the middle of 2006 by the latest estimates.
