In a brand-spanking new interview with Nintendo president Satoro Iwata, the big boss chats with EGN about the upcoming Revolution online service, with which Big N has vowed to make their entire back catalogue of games available for download. Not only will Revolution compatible versions of classic titles be created, but Nintendo is also looking to overhaul - even remake - certain key games. "We are doing several experiments, including working with the original Super Mario Bros., with the new technology," stated Iwata in the interview. "The game itself and the gameplay shall be identical, but the look will be different; it's possible that with Revolution, we may be able to see the old games with new looks."

Of course, Nintendo will be well aware that if they can make old favourites look like new, then they could already be in possession of the Revolution's 'killer app' from day one... the prospect of Mario, Zelda, et al looking all refreshed and next-generation no doubt proving far too tempting to even the most blasEof gamers. 2D remakes are already being experimented on, and Iwata revealed that 3D games will be improved where possible too, with sharper, crisper visuals. The full interview will be available in EGN magazine stateside next week. We'll keep you posted on Nintendo's sporadic tid-bits of detail on their new console.
