The Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival has grown noticeably this year, with contributors perhaps noting the lack of another significant games show this summer. The show runs from August the 10th to the 14th, at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, and is organised by ELSPA, and Scottish Enterprise.

The show's burgeoning stature was amply demonstrated today, with revealing that it will demonstrate the first playable code of Zelda: Twilight Princess on the at the show, as well as handing European debuts to Nintendogs and Battalion Wars. and Nintendo are perhaps the biggest attendees confirmed thus far, but will be joined by fellow giants BT, GAME and Nokia too. Nokia and Vodafone will be talking mobile gaming, and it is expected that the maker will announce their future gaming plans.

BT and Microsoft will offer Live at the festival, and Nintendo are part of a talk examining the cultural impact of gaming, as well as taking a general look at console and handheld gaming. Gizmondo, alongside and Nintendo, will also host a conference on handheld gaming. You can buy tickets for this interesting showcase now, and we'll keep you posted on developments north of the border.
