Sony America advises against PSP 2.0
Sorry chaps, but...
Sony America are currently advising North American PSP purchasers not to download the 2.0 upgrade, despite its availability online. The Japanese version of the latest PSP patch has been available for about a week, but Sony are telling gamers they cannot offer technical support for the upgrade as yet, though the patch will be available stateside in the near future. Sony have already informed us that the ever-looming launch of the PSP in PAL regions (Europe and Australasia) will come pre-loaded with the version 2.0 upgrade, so presumably Americans can expect the upgrade 'officially' before the September 1st launch.
A message aimed at non-Japanese gamers, downloading the upgrade from the Japanese site, was posted there in the week. It read: "CAUTION: This update is only for customers who obtained PSP (PlayStation Portable) for Japan which model number is PSP-1000 or PSP-1000 K. Upon completion of preparing, we will announce update information for the other countries/areas customers via SCE Group Web Site or other channels. For theses customers who obtained PSP in the other countries/areas, please DO NOT update PSP through this web site."

When I first heard Sony had launched the PsP, I had to deside on getting the PsP or Ipod. I wanted to get the Ipod for all my songs and to store programs and pictures. I desided to get the PsP because of it's gaming capabilities. I should of waited longer to do more research about the psp. the PsP had many problems when I gotten it, It needed for one, games which are costly, Memory sticks which went over 200 bucks! The movies were ok tho. The psp couldn't web browse when i first got it but soon after i learned Sony was going to add alot of thing, one being web browseing. after waiting for 3 to 5 months I got tired of waiting and went to get the new 20 gb ipod photo. So what im tring to say is Sony when are you going to open webbrowseing?
