And these ones are based on reality. After months of elaborate fakes circulating the internet some factual details about the controller for Nintendo's next console are finally beginning to emerge. It appears that the revolutionary controller, which has been the focal point of Nintendo's attempts to drum up interest in the technical capabilities of their otherwise mysterious machine, is not quite as revolutionary as the company has been leading us to believe. Rather than some elaborate new form of interfacing with games, the Revolution's controller utilises a form of tilt control. At this point we can say that it will provide resistance to being tilted, probably using technology similar to the tilt-sensors in WarioWare: Twisted combined with rumble technology.

Nintendo ushered in the era of force feedback technology in gaming controllers and the consensus at this point is that the new technology in the Revolution controller will also become the norm in the future. Details are still sketchy as Nintendo works on perfecting the controller, looking at ways of balancing the revolving effect with the drain on the batteries of the console's wireless controllers. A few developers have expressed an interest in the new controller, with Peter Molyneux commenting that, "There is a line at the end of the book 'Game Over' and it is: 'Never underestimate Nintendo'. That is all I can say about the controller." Meanwhile, SEGA's Yuji Naka states that "everyone will be pleasantly surprised".

Nintendo have a well deserved reputation for attempting the new and unusual, a trend that sounds set to continue with the Revolution. Hopefully there will be more news during the Tokyo Games Show, which takes place next month.

it's apparently from a legitimate source though... and a tilt-resistant controller does sound reasonable.

You know, every other site that reported on this said they got it from CGOnline...except you. Well, and GameSpot, because they got it from you, and said so.

Well, at least you didn't copy the article-- just parroted all of its bullet points and then tacked on some Molyneux at the end. Good show, there.
