‘Free’ Xbox with five Games
New deals abound!
The console price-war is getting ever-more aggressive in UK high streets, a fact underlined today as Dixons reveal their by five games and a Joytech Controller – get the console for free, offer. The bundle will set you back a hefty £239, but you’ll get two controllers as part of the deal. Sadly no Halo is included, the games on offer being 4x4 Evo 2, Conflict Desert Storm, Gun Metal, Mad Dash Racing, and Turok Evolution. Not great, but a start.

Meanwhile, Curry’s have now slashed the price of the Xbox to £129.99, when you trade in an old console, while Argos’s response was to the cut their price to the same – no strings attached! A very fine deal, indeed.
The most interesting thing to watch now will be Sony and Nintendo’s response to this aggressive retailing, especially with a new killer Xbox bundle rumoured for Christmas – an Xbox with Splinter Cell and Halo for £199. Which would of course make a fabulous Christmas present.

I think Halo is a good game but many future games will be better as technology increases. I would love to have a free X-Box with five games but if not , thats ok too. X-box is a great system. Dont think anything else

Hmm... I think I'll save my money, Buy Halo when it comes out for PC and Mac this Summer and use the rest of my money to buy a good console with good games.

this will be my very first Xbox
My family never owned any games like XBOX, PLAYSTATION, OR GAMECUBE. They couldnt afford it with my sister having cancer, and my sister being preg at a young age. Also from helping others it was even impossible to have board games. I play XBOX at Walmart when we get groceries. It is a dream for all of us 7 kids(two girls, and five boys) to have an XBOX.
