New Fantasy for GBA
Numero four gets GBAised
Square Enix has used the ongoing Tokyo Games Show as a platform to announce a brand new Final Fantasy game for the GBA. The fourth title in the long-running series is now bound for the handheld, which Nintendo is hoping can be injected with new life this festive season with the GB Micro. Final Fantasy IV will be based on the same story as the console original, and features eighteen towns and castles to explore, monsters, weapons and of course a liberal helping of magic. New characters and settings are also promised for this re-make, Square clearly hoping to lure those that enjoyed the first game to this sibling.
An epic journey across strange lands is, as usual, the general gist of the gameplay - which will see players collecting crystals. About thirty or four hours of gameplay is promised by Square Enix, and the company even announced a North American debut for December 12th. No word as yet on a PAL-region release for the game, but given that the last three made it to Europe, there's no recent to doubt this latest incarnation won't. More as we get it, kids.
