The latest issue of magazine Game Developer reveals the top-twenty publishers based on various criteria such as review scores and sales, website Gamasutra.com informs us today. unsurprisingly top the magazine's run-down, with climbing to beat to the number two spot. The maker comes in third this year. meanwhile come in fourth with fifth, though the article notes that these major labels are doing more recently to challenge EA's dominance - according to Gamasutra, the sister-publication of Game Developer magazine.

Profits are of course at the heart of the magazine's estimates, hence EA's dominance for a third-year running, but quality of pay, regularity of releases and more also helped calculate the standings. Acclaim dropped out of the top-twenty owing to their bankruptcy, Bandai, and all found new homes on the list. meanwhile slipped to thirteenth.
