After the success of Rag Doll Kung Fu on Valve's content delivery system, another third-party game is set to be 'published' using the groundbreaking download service. The title in question is Introversion's Darwinia, an puzzle game. The title will earn its Steam debut on December 14th, and will set budding downloaders back 19.95 USD. "When everyone gets their chance to play it, we think they'll be staying up all night protecting Darwinians just like us," commented marketing director Doug Lombardi, adding his support for Valve's latest Steam partner.

The popularity of Steam, used to deliver content related to 2 and of course favourite Counter-Strike, has sparked the interest of larger publishers such as and Sega, with the Live also publishing smaller games for lower prices in downloadable form. "In today's market, it's incredibly difficult for an independent developer to secure worldwide distribution for a new property, let alone for one that attempts to blend genres and offer a wide variety of gameplay styles," commented Vicky Arundel, head of marketing at Introversion.

Ahead of the December 14th Steam-powered launch, gamers can also try out a demo of the game. Available now from the official website. More soon.
