Media company DigitalKitchen accidentally hosted a believed to be from last year on their website this week, inadvertently letting slip what appears to be a concept video for an unannounced portable system from Microsoft. The video was rapidly pulled by the no doubt somewhat embarrassed firm, with a spokesperson hurrying to warn against taking the product featured literally, stating instead that Microsoft have been exploring the concept for some time.

But what did the video show? A handheld computer 'panel', by the look of things - codenamed 'Origami'. Interestingly, the device shown appeared to be a multimedia platform running Windows, the video apparently offering glimpses of the GUI and even the machine running a version of Halo. The multimedia device, which appears to have a touch-screen, would be for the iPod and PSP, and an entry into this market from Microsoft has been predicted for some time.

Not that the video necessarily reveals anything final, but from what we can gather the product certainly looked well-developed. We'll keep you posted for word on the mysterious 'Origami', and have our fingers-crossed for Microsoft revealing something more concrete soon.
