PSP prices slide across Britain and Eire
Further cuts to come?
Irish gamers thought they'd got one over on their British counterparts this week, after retail chain GameStop appeared to cut the price of the PSP Giga pack in Eire to 289.99 EUR, residents of Northern Island also receiving a cut to 189.99 GBP. That was until other retailers decided to cut the cost of the pack to 189.99 GBP across the rest of Britain too, a good deal given the 214.99 GBP price point previously in force. The Irish price was previously set to 309.99 EUR, and covered a PSP, a stand, and a 1gb Memory Stick. Nice.

Several online retailers have cut their prices accordingly, leading to speculation that a minor price war could be looming, as the PSP hardware matures. Currently the best prices for the pack are to be found online, costing about 184.99 GBP. This would certainly be a good thing for gamers, though there's no sign of a cut on the continent as yet. Sony are saying that the cuts are purely retail-led, and aren't based on official discounting from the manufacturer. We'll keep you posted on where the best deals are to be had as we learn more.
