Latest news in today reveals that the handheld has also received the kitsch treatment from Sony, with the company revealing in its pre-Leipzig releases that a pink version of the system will also be released, as with the PS2. The company hopes the new look system will entice audiences not usually associated with gaming, with the new pack set for release on October 27th.

The limited edition 169 GBP pack will include the console, headphones, a pouch wristband and 32MB memory stick Duo - all in a fetching shade of garish pink. A UMD included will also boast videos, interviews and with pop mistress Pink, who clearly feel might be a good partner on this occasion. "The association with Pink will enable PSP to push new boundaries," explained Sony's Stephane Hareau, who also claimed that this move represented far more than the launch of just 'a new colour'.

A pink has been confirmed for November 1st, costing 129.99 GBP, as Sony look to capitalise on new gamers captured by the popularity of non-traditional games like SingStar. We'll bring you more on this boundary-widening as we get it.
