DS gets MP3 player
Play Yan bound for PAL areas
The Play Yan - an MP3 player add-on for the Nintendo DS and GBA handhelds - is en route to PAL regions, Nintendo have this week revealed. Already a hit in Japan, the add-on probably won't be called the 'Play Yan' in Europe and Australasia, but will be basically the same device, we're told.
Speaking to UK-based website Eurogamer.net, a spokesman for the Big N confirmed that the peripheral was finally on the way. "It's just like the Play Yan, where you insert an SD card into a GBA cart-sized adaptor," they explained. "That is then inserted into either your DS, DS Lite, GBA SP or GB Micro - turn it on and away you go."
The spokesperson also confirmed that any capacity of SD card will function with the add-on, though it remains unclear whether the device will actually come with an SD card ready for use. The company couldn't confirm the exact release date or price, though reports online point to an October debut and cost in the region of 30 GBP. More on this as we get it.
