GamePolitics.com are reporting today the latest turn in the seemingly never-ending spat between Take Two (parent company of Games) and violent videogame activist, lawyer Jack Thompson. Take Two's representatives are now attempting to have Thompson announced in contempt of court, possibly pertaining to the somewhat riled comments the attorney made in the wake of the recent Bully court case.

The case in question, brought in Florida by Thompson surrounding the controversial title Bully, saw the attorney succeed in having the game's content assessed by the Judge, Ronald Friedman, who subsequently passed the game as fit for sale. Thompson was left aggrieved by the Judge's ruling, circulating an angry letter criticising the decision.

Take Two perhaps hope to capitalise on Thompson's statements, and if they succeed in having the lawyer held in contempt, Thompson could be fined, admonished, censured or - theoretically - imprisoned. Take Two's legal eagles have submitted a "Petition for Order to Show Cause" to the court, a motion to try and force Thompson explain to the court why he shouldn't be held in contempt.

"You want to play hardball...? You want to try to throw me in jail? You have no idea what you are unleashing in doing this. You're at the brink..." read a response issued by Jack Thompson, and circulated to members of the press. More on this as we get it.
