Not only do I need to be given the power to determine what clothes my player wears, but I need to be given enough options that I'll never get tired of changing his look. Call me fruity, but I like customizing looks on my character.
And, they do offer points the longer you stay on the rails. You can grind them, handplant them, and once you're boost meter is full, you can do special tricks on them. And you get points. Potentially lots and lots of points. (just like Tony Hawk).
Personally, I love the SSX series, but this one is a bit of a let down. I'd still give it like an 80%, but the lack of online baffles me, since SSX3 had it, and the similarities to other EA games has me thinking that they cut corners wherever possible. Whether it's the Def Jam character build, or the Burnout soundtrack, everything feels too familiar, in all the wrong ways. But still, a good fast great game.
