The is not too bad however, though the use of the third-person perspective over first-person being preferred as the first-person mode is rather narrow and restrictive in it’s view. The fact the combat is rather-less than crucial as team-members can respawn at certain points, does however destroy any tension created by the excellent level design. That’s not to say the level design is belittled however; for the environments of Project Eden are at times nothing short of stunning, many of the levels being among the most rich futuresque environments of the genre. This attention to detail is added to by the excellent lighting effects and animation too; coupled with ambient sound effects which add to the tension and sense of reality.

Project Eden is indeed visually stunning; and the puzzles are rather intriguing too, the immersive quality of the game being generated by the richly woven plot and world, though gamers who prefer hard and dangerous combat may not appreciate the lack of emphasis placed upon this in gameplay.

Multiplayer support in the game is excellent once again, the world proving ideal for this sort of thing though the combat isn’t always the most frenetic; fire-fights not being the game’s forte. Worth a try nonetheless.

In conclusion Project Eden is not perfect; it is however an ambitious game deserving of praise for it’s beautiful attention to detail and genuinely interesting plot. It is not however always as engrossing as the atmosphere suggests, the puzzles being very occasionally repetitive, the combat sometimes unimportant.
