I don't know, Final Fantasy XII was a gigantic piece of trash. If you had actually been able to play these games back in 2005, you'd probably have given them a 20% better score.
They are just that great, but seriously, FF12 is trash.
I think you are a little bit unfair towards DDS2.
Comparing it to FFXII? I believe FFXII is one of the worst games out so far. Sure, beutiful graphics, but the history is bad. And the fact that there ISN'T any character development in the game, makes it even worse.
Compare that to DDS2, which has an interesting story line, good character development, and interesting battles.
And you also say that "You face the same opponents endless times". You still have to think on what to do in each battle. Take advantage of the enemys weakness. Compare that to the overrated FFXII where you have the Gambits that handle EVERYTHING. (wow, talk about boring, and kind of lame)
I've been a fan of the Final Fantasy Serie and the DDS series for a long time. Played most games in both series.
What most people doesn't understand though, is that the name "Final Fantasy" makes it almost tabu to be called a bad game.
DDS2, is, and will remain a very good rpg, and will undoubtly, catch new fans in the future. Especially those who are tired of the usual rpg:s.
Just 72? That number won't do it justice. Too little, I say.
Also, comparing it to FFXII makes it seem that FFXII is how all RPG's should be. Which they shouldn't be. DDS2 will outshine every time, mainly because it captivates you. The amazing character development and the shocking story makes FFXII look like utter crap...which it is.
first of all the game is so deep and unique thats why other people cant easily enjoy the game and keep comparing it to shalow games such as FF12
